Abstract

Today, China is in a particular stage that the urbanization develops quickly. A city economic system, metropolitan area economy, which developed in western countries, appears in China. Because economy, polity and some other factors are different from east and west, metropolitan area economy development of China has its own characteristics, which is different from western countries. There are little researches on metropolitan area formation system currently at present. So I take Guangzhou as an example, analyze the formation of Guangzhou metropolitan area economy and study its general regularity and development trend.

First, the metropolitan area economy of Guangzhou has already reached the metropolitan area economy level.

Second, the formation of Guangzhou metropolitan area economy is a long process, and has its own characteristics in each process.

Third, compare the metropolitan area economy of Guangzhou and overseas, and discover the characteristic of Chinese special metropolitan area economy development.

Last, the present problem and development of metropolitan area economy.

Some problems that this research conclusion involved still is treat in hereafter of further thorough research. I just do some first steps study here and make the reference for the research in the future.
