Scientists declared: kill the HIV virus, the existence of stem cells
Tariq foreign media reports, the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) AIDS Institute, the experts on December 9, 2009 am (Beijing time) announced that they could kill the AIDS virus can find a stem cell, will effectively prevention and treatment of HIV.
It is an introduction to American scientists, these stem cells can activate a pro-active search mode, which can help stem cells have been searched and an attack against all HIV-infected cells, and these stem cells also have some special capabilities, can be used in the near future the treatment of chronic viral diseases.
International AIDS Society experts, Scott, said: We have conducted a study of this discovery could prove that stem cells can be used for the human immune system engineering framework. Especially for T-cell ability to respond is very important, and the culling of HIV with specific capabilities. The related studies for the treatment and the restoration of the human immune system diseases, chronic viral diseases, cancer and other lay the basis for further development.
It is reported that the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) AIDS Institute, December 7 in the related data and papers published in the online library at the school.
Anti-T-cells, in science CD8 cytotoxic T lymphocytes is called, is the main objective of the new study of AIDS. University of California at Los Angeles trying to find out how they work, and how best to activate the anti-T-cells. T cells in the human body, however the number of grossly inadequate. Therefore, we must cultivate in the laboratory a large number of T cells. In fact, the increase scientists is to use laboratory-grown T-cells in some of the activated T cells were activated, first injected into the human thymus tissue, and once again implanted in mice were compared.
The researchers noted that in the cultured T-cell activation and the process of forming a mature, multi-function (cell-adaptive) stem cell tissue, such stem cells is consistent with characteristics of HIV-specific CD8 cells in the stem cell types. This type of stem cells have been tested to contain the target cells of HIV proteins. University of California at Los Angeles, deputy director of the Institute of Medicine and AIDS, said Professor 扎克杰罗姆 the next step would be prepared to test this type of stem cells in more complex animal models, such as primates. Professor also said that this method can be used to deal with a variety of chronic viral diseases, it's like a DNA vaccine.
An AIDS prevention and control, analysts say that the discovery of stem cells may be the first real sense that human can fight against AIDS. (Toot)
