南非感染艾滋法官做客搜狐 呼吁网友消除歧视
主持人：各位网友大家好，欢迎点击搜狐访谈间。我们非常荣幸的请到了南非最高法院法官，国际知名的抵制艾滋病、消除歧视的倡导者兼作家埃德温·卡梅伦先生。感谢埃德温·卡梅伦先生与广大的搜狐网友进行交流。请卡梅伦先生给我们的网友打一声招呼。
埃德温·卡梅伦：搜狐的网友大家好，我是埃德温·卡梅伦。
主持人：首先请允许我介绍一下，埃德温·卡梅伦先生是应中国卫生部和联合国艾滋病规划署的邀请，来华访问。
访问的目的是从法律、消除歧视和艾滋病感染者的权利等角度进一步支持中国的艾滋病防治工作。埃德温·卡梅伦先生作为一名公开自己身份的艾滋病感染者，在艾滋病研究和权利问题上具备丰富的工作经验。下面我们非常感谢他在百忙中抽出一个小时接受搜狐的访谈。我们待会儿会共同分享对艾滋病感染权利和问题的看法。
埃德温·卡梅伦：我也非常高兴我可以有这样的机会和中国的广大网友通过网络的平台来交换意见。
曾经10年隐藏病情，于死亡边缘公开
埃德温·卡梅伦：因为害怕遭受别人歧视和异样的眼光，隐瞒了10多年艾滋病情。因为在当时的非洲乃至世界上很多国家包括中国，人们对待艾滋病感染者因不理解而引起的歧视非常严重。但是在1997年的时候，我病得非常严重，濒临死亡的边缘。然而依靠现在关于艾滋病治疗医学上的突破以及抗病毒治疗技术的进展，之后又恢复了健康。就在这个转折间，我决定告诉世人，沉默无济于事，艾滋病是一个完全可以用医学的方法来控制的疾病，它可以让患者恢复健康，重新走入到社会。沉默不应该成为让更多的艾滋病人得不到治疗，直到危及生命的生存状态。我们要与之作战的不仅是艾滋病，还应该是对待艾滋病的歧视引起的不公正和不公平。这是我过去十年来一直努力的事情”，我告诉世人我的情况之前，我是非常焦虑和恐惧，我一直担心，别人发现了我会受到很多的歧视，大家会拒绝和我接近、交往，我1999年公开了自己的身份以后，我反而觉得非常释然了，可以过着非常积极的生活，我接触的人对我也是非常的积极和理解，告诉世人对我来说是一个非常积极的正面的过程。它使我可以保持很好的健康，使我得到很多外界的支持。”
对艾滋病患者的歧视让人痛心
埃德温·卡梅伦：在南非，艾滋病从流行病学的角度来说，和中国的形势不大一样。南非的艾滋病感染者占全国人口总数的11%到12%，有五六百万人携带着病毒生存。而在中国全国估计艾滋病感染者的数量是70万，相比中国拥有13亿人口的国家来说，艾滋病感染率还是比较低的。就我在北京这几天的会议和讨论间，我感觉到，尽管感染艾滋人群的百分比上有很大的区别，但是两个国家都有一个共同点，就是依然存在对艾滋病患者的恐惧、沉默、拒绝接受以及歧视。
埃德温·卡梅伦：目前的主要工作就是致力于消除人们对艾滋病以及患者的歧视，他最想要传达的信息就是艾滋病是完全可以用医学来控制的疾病，是可以治疗的，虽然不能治愈。“我用药物已经11年了，我自己就是一个活生生的实例。我以自身的例子告诉人们，艾滋病是可以治疗的疾病，这样才可以消除大家对艾滋病的恐惧和歧视。”
埃德温·卡梅伦：对于艾滋病，人们不需要有很多不必要的恐惧，完全可以非常正常的对待艾滋病人。在日常接触的环境中，艾滋病是一个不容易传染的疾病，喝水、握手都不会传染。他在和来自中国不同地方的感染者、非政府工作人士一起交流的时候，不约而同地谈到了歧视。他们谈到了很多发生在自己身上的现实例子，他们被歧视地对待，比如在公共场合、医院、宾馆、甚至他们的家庭成员，也因为他们感染的艾滋而抛弃他们。他说：“这些都是非常痛心的，知道有这样现实的歧视存在我听后特别伤心，我觉得这些事情不应该发生在中国。”
消除对艾滋病人的歧视，不仅要靠法律，还需要社会环境的营造
埃德温·卡梅伦：在南非从事消除对艾滋歧视的工作已经十年了，目前南非已经把对艾滋病感染者的歧视通过法律的形式变成了不合法的行为。人们用法律来保护艾滋病感染者不受歧视，同时也有法庭相应的裁决；人们通过法案来邀请政府为艾滋病感染者提供免费的治疗；公司的雇主不能歧视感染艾滋病的员工，以保证他们工作的权益。“这些是南非现在已经取得的一些成绩。但是南非现在和未来工作的重点是改变人们头脑中对艾滋病的态度、他的想法。”
以上是法律层面的东西，但是歧视深存在人们头脑中，要改变人们的看法，需要的是社会行动和社会环境的营造，这里面需要艾滋病感染者的组织做很多倡导工作，来推动社会环境的营造，这样才能使法案得到切实的落实，才能够真正行之有效的消除歧视。我们的目标是营造一种让社会都认为歧视艾滋病感染者是不正确的行为的社会环境。中国2006年颁布实行了艾滋病防治条例，条例明确讲，不应该歧视艾滋病的感染者，但是关于落实，还需要更多的社会力量加入。
主持人：在您即将出版的中文版的自传，中文翻译是叫《艾滋病证人》，这是什么样的书？是不是想以您的亲身经历来促进观念上的改变？
埃德温·卡梅伦：我非常高兴的看到《艾滋病证人》这本书在中国出版，我也非常高兴看到它被全文的翻译成了中文，被附加了更多新的照片，所有的工作都准备就绪了，大概有一两个月的时间，就可以出现中文版的书，中国的读者就可以看到。这是一本充满希望和号召大家行动起来的一本书，里面涵盖了很多的内容，治疗的、反歧视的、态度方面的各种各样的信息，这本书虽然是我的自转，但是传达的信息不仅仅是我个人的，而是代表整个全球的艾滋病感染者的故事，讲述他们的故事。
受艾滋病影响的孩子是弱势中的弱势，亟待保护
在艾滋病以及受艾滋病影响的人群中，孩子甚至孤儿是一个无保障人群，这个人群包括了单亲家庭、以及虽然是双亲，但是父母有病的孩子和部分孤儿，他们深受艾滋病影响，是弱势中的弱势。而埃德温·卡梅伦曾经是吉尔德儿童之家和麻雀巢儿童之家等机构的赞助人，对于保障儿童的权利，他说，儿童本身就是弱势的，需要保护，尤其是受艾滋病影响的儿童。
“我通过这些天的访问，也听到了很多这样的例子，孩子因为自己感染或是他家人感染艾滋病，就被学校、幼儿园拒收，甚至是医院拒绝给他们提供治疗和服务，这些都令人非常痛心，也是非常不合情理的歧视。我希望通过搜狐公益向广大的网友和中国人民传达这个声音，希望关注一下艾滋病儿童。”
埃德温·卡梅伦：在中国政府会给因艾滋病致孤的儿童每个月发放200元的补助，在南非也有法律来帮助受艾滋病影响的儿童，对儿童也有一个固定的资助，按月发放，而他们的父母，因为感染艾滋病，也可以申请经济上的补助，会发一些补贴。
关于艾滋病的种种问题，钱不是最终的解决办法，可能只是解决办法中的一部分，人们需要做的是，除了经济上的资助和支持之外，是更多来自社会大众的理解，社会大众对于艾滋病正确的认识和良好的态度。“能够正常、正确的对待艾滋病病人，不要歧视他们，这是我们想要深入每一个社会大众的内心所要传达的信息，这也是为什么我来搜狐参加这个节目的真正原因。”

Discrimination against people with AIDS distressed

Children affected by AIDS is weakest of the weak, need to protect
