Absolute distance | ABSOLUTE DISTANCE2010-11-21 9:09:16 Source: Heritage Network

Distance is a relative and absolute terms, in the continuous quest for the relative distance, we can only possibilities close to absolute.
The exhibition is a situation of AIDS in rural China for the social investigation report. It consists of two parts, the photo diary documenting the curators, artists, health workers, volunteers, psychologists and journalists in Guangxi, Yunnan and Shanxi rural life experiences. On local history and culture, geography, climate, population distribution and customs of the understanding, we are more close to people living with HIV in which the social environment; by changes in political and economic development of local knowledge, we more clearly the development of AIDS in local Changes in context. When the AIDS patients to openly accept the attitude of "we" when "we" have been relieved after acceptance. Equal the natural way we shorten the distance between people living with HIV. In the stove, in the field, in the mountain, with people living with HIV in our common life and labor in the process, we were able to close into their feelings and personal space. Apart from health problems caused by diseases other than AIDS, as a test paper, test the people's social relations, family relations, kinship, ethnic relations, and their human relationships, family, friendship and love of the bottom line. We see support, understanding, love and tolerance, we also see the selfishness, cruelty, betrayal and indifference. Once again, we face perception and evaluation of self, perception and reflection of human nature.
The second part of the exhibition show the artist's part. And patients together in about a month before and after, we learned that AIDS is not only the impact on the lives of individual patients, we also learned from some of the side of the social status of rural China. Soil erosion, overuse of groundwater, drug safety testing, medical care for farmers, rural-urban development in the course of the passage of Chinese traditional culture, social values change, become more severe than the social reality of AIDS. In the "absolute distance", for AIDS is not only our social survey as a way of AIDS awareness, has become "our" knowledge "we" itself is an effective way to become the face of various social problems and cultural differences of different mental state when we as a test.
