世界艾滋病大会潘基文呼吁重视

第18届世界艾滋病大会18日晚在维也纳国际会展中心开幕,来自世界各地两万多名相关机构的专家、政府代表、医务工作者和企业界人士与会。

在为期一周的会议期间,与会者将就艾滋病发展态势、艾滋病预防以及新药研发和治疗等问题进行交流,展示这一领域中最新研究成果和理念。
本届世界艾滋病大会的口号是“权利,就在此时此地”,以此呼吁全球在积极有效应对艾滋病威胁的同时,注重对艾滋病患者及艾滋病病毒携带者的保护。
在当晚的大会开幕式上,联合国秘书长潘基文发表了电视致辞,呼吁各国继续高度重视艾滋病的防治,同时要求国际社会在艾滋病预防和治疗方面为发展中国家提供帮助。他特别强调,在艾滋病防治方面,国际社会“应向那些被忽视已久的国家提供更多帮助”。
当晚,第18届世界艾滋病大会主席,国际艾滋病协会主席蒙塔内尔和奥地利艾滋病协会主席施密特女士也分别致辞,指出当今世界艾滋病形势严峻,全人类应共同努力应对这一病魔,呼吁尊重、保护艾滋病患者和艾滋病病毒携带者的权益。
据有关统计,在过去近30年里,艾滋病已夺走2500多万人的生命。目前,非洲撒哈拉以南地区仍是全球艾滋病泛滥最严重的地区。

In the evening the opening ceremony of the General Assembly, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon issued a video message, called on countries to continue to attach great importance to AIDS prevention, and to ask the international community in AIDS prevention and treatment for developing countries to help. He particularly emphasized in AIDS prevention, the international community "should have been long neglected state for more help."
That night, the 18th President of the World AIDS Conference, International AIDS Association, President of AIDS Society 席蒙塔内尔 and Austria, Ms. Schmidt also delivered speeches that the world AIDS situation is grim, all of humanity should work together to deal with this disease, called for respect to protect AIDS patients and HIV carriers interests.
