联合国召开艾滋病问题高级别会议

本报纽约6月8日电（记者卞晨光）联合国艾滋病问题高级别会议今天在联合国纽约总部拉开帷幕，来自政府和民间组织的代表齐聚一堂，共同审议全球抗击艾滋病的工作进度，并对未来5年的应对工作作出规划。
潘基文秘书长在会议开幕式上发表了讲话，他高度赞扬了前任秘书长安南在领导全球抗击艾滋病方面所作出的卓越贡献，呼吁国际社会利用此次会议的历史契机，采取具体行动，为实现一个没有艾滋病的世界而奋斗。他说，自30年前人类发现艾滋病以来，国际社会在抗击艾滋方面取得了可喜的成绩，在全球受艾滋病影响最大的一些国家，感染艾滋病病毒的比率减少了四分之一，全球已有600万病毒感染者能够得到相应的医疗服务。
联合国艾滋病规划署执行主任西迪贝在讲话中表示，目前世界正处于一个关键时期，国际社会应达成一致意见，彻底结束艾滋病的蔓延，最终实现无新发艾滋病毒感染病例、无歧视存在和无艾滋病致死现象的目标。
在高级别会议开幕的同时，相关各方还在联合国总部内举行了不同主题的讨论会，就如何加强艾滋病的预防和全球抗击艾滋病工作的领导力、寻找更加可持续的解决办法、确保对艾滋病问题进行长期投资等问题深入地交换了意见。包括30多位国家元首和政府首脑等在内的各国政府官员以及民间组织和艾滋病病毒感染者的代表参加此次为期三天的高级别会议。预计会议将通过一份对未来5年全球抗击艾滋病工作具有指导意义的重要宣言。

NEW YORK, June 8 (Xinhua Bianchen Guang) United Nations High-Level Meeting on AIDS at the United Nations Headquarters in New York today kicked off from the government and civil society representatives gathered together to review the progress of the global fight against AIDS, and The next 5 years to plan the response to.
