Recently, the reporter learned from the Beijing Ai Weier manufacturers, HIV saliva test strip has been recognized by national authorities, as a new detection technology, can formally enter the market.
Saliva test strip, an unparalleled advantage with blood tests, no blood, no expertise and specialized equipment, simple operation, the results quickly, just take a small amount of saliva, were the instructions on the steps, 20 minutes can be detected. Accuracy and sensitivity, can reach the standard blood tests. In the use of security, higher than the blood test, because the blood of AIDS among HIV virus (HIV), the highest concentration, while the lowest concentration of HIV in saliva, using saliva testing, no contact with blood, help to protect health care the safety of personnel.
Saliva testing is expected to enter the home of ordinary people:
Saliva tests, the fight against AIDS in Africa may become a "valuable tool." As we all know, Africa is hardest hit by AIDS, the AIDS epidemic is very serious, the development of some countries, AIDS has been a serious drag. Although the promotion of related projects in Africa has not yet introduced, but in some areas of the U.S. aid agency where you can buy this technology test strip. Saliva test strip, will be a wider range of promotion. Saliva tests may end without a prescription, you can buy in pharmacies, the same as pregnancy test strip.
Saliva test strip two advantages:
First, the detection of simplicity, allowing ordinary people can use for the wider promotion of HIV testing, breaking the bottleneck.
Second, high accuracy, the results quickly, can encourage more people to participate in testing, so that they get real results.
HIV counseling and testing network, Dr Lee told reporters that the number of AIDS in China has reached 74 million, of which 44 million people do not know they are infected, and these unknown infection there is a greater threat, so that more people involved in testing, will help control the epidemic. development. At present, HIV testing strips, blood test strips are mainly based, and, using the fast method (ie, HIV dipstick) testing, preferably carried out under the guidance of professionals to ensure the operation specifications, and test results accurately of reliability. HIV saliva test strip, the current number of medical institutions in the country have begun using this new detection technology, but in the future, drawing on the experience of Africa and some other countries after China will be greater efforts to promote.
Although China's government departments to strengthen the county, township and village levels of medical service network, but because of uneven development, many local health service agencies, subject to testing conditions,
No specific testing equipment, the traditional detection methods such as ELISA can not be, and HIV saliva test method can be a good remedy to this problem. So that more medical units to carry out testing, but also to subjects more quickly and easily get test results.
