Social capital and Education

I wrote a paper on social capital and education . In the paper, I talked about the relation of them. The social capital theory emphasizes the person to make use of the intersubjective function. From the microscopic level to expanding the macroscopic level, it was studied the society the economy to increase in the community- human capital opinion, and was put the social relation into the research. According to this, the development of education is interaction among the human relationships, the construction of organization, and so on. The relation between education and social capital is that they are interaction. Education has close together relation to the social capital , and the later is the positive effect to the former. 

Recently, I red the same topic paper as mine. It made me known better that Child development is powerfully shaped by social capital such as trust, networks, and norms of reciprocity within a child’s family, school, peer group, and larger community, in which they have wide ranging effects on the child’s opportunities and choices and hence, on behaviour and development.

“ States that score high on the Social Capital Index are the same states where children flourish.”

“…Social Capital is second only to poverty in the breath and depth of its effects on children’s lives.” Social capital has at least the functions of the followings:

•         Provide emotional security

•         Develop social relationships and skills

•         Develop language and communication

•         Model moral behaviour

•         Offer unconditional love

Last week, I borrowed a book of Measuring Social Capital, which is a world bank working paper No.18. It is an integrated questionnaire. I might use them to measure social capital inside and outside school.

Therefore, I know better the relation of social capital and education.
