Study: HIV can be healthy female invasion of the skin

U.S. researchers said Tuesday that HIV is not damaged through the skin, but by attacking normal healthy reproductive organs of the body to the invasion of the female body. The study of the spread of AIDS to provide a new perspective.

The researchers said the former view, people living with HIV virus through the damaged skin, such as herpes wounds, deep into the organization's immune cells. Some people even believe that the sexual intercourse, the vagina of normal skin will be able to resist the invasion of the virus.

"Normal skin will be subject to attack," Northwestern University School of Medicine in Fort ThomasHope fun in a telephone interview, he said, "In the past people that will break the skin must be infected with HIV." Hope in San Francisco, United States Institute of Cell Biology Meeting, published a research report.

He said the current female scientists infected with AIDS through sexual means little is known about the details.

Hope and Northwestern University, Tulane University and colleagues used a new method to observe the activities of cells. Let them bring fluorescent material to track the virus access to those in the hysterectomy in the vaginal access to the organization.

The study found that the virus will attack those who have just gone through the normal shedding of skin cells, the rapid adoption of genital skin barrier into the immune cells infected with the human body.

Hope said that the use of vaccines and methods such as condoms to prevent infection is particularly important. Condoms to be effective in preventing HIV infection. (END)
