Left Atherton Town, we got on the Caltrain again and soon arrived at the stop of Stanford University. We had to go some distance to find the gate, different from other universities in America, Stanford University has gates, and in front of the main gate, there is the long and venerable Palm Drive. It spent us about twenty minutes to cover it and found the gate of the University.

     The campus of the University is so large and beautiful, the structures and buildings are almost in the same style. Earth-yellow walls and red terra-cottas, there are Hoover Tower, Rodan sculpture garden and churches. It is the most beautiful and university like university I had ever seen, by the way, I have never been to Cambridge and Harvard, maybe they are more like a university.

     It is not necessary for me to describe it here because the university has it's own web, but it is necessary to share the feeling about it. Everybody has many first times; after all it is the first time I had been there. One of my friends had been there as a visiting scholar, he didn't mention the beauty and gravity of the university, but from what he said when I told him I am in UCSD --- I have been to Stanford, I should understand the meaning behind it.
