美国继续对富裕的农民加以补贴
“每年直接支付超过50亿美元的款项给玉米、小麦、大米、棉花和其它一些农作物的种植者，支付基于以往的生产，而不管市场条件，甚至不管是否仍在种植农作物。这笔款项对于最大的农作物生产者极其重要，居于前面的10 ％的种植者将获得三分之二的补贴……新的3000亿美元的农业补贴法案已在国会的计划之中，尽管在过去三年里粮食价格提高了80％。

"More than $5 billion in direct payments are made each year to growers of corn, wheat, rice, cotton and a few other crops based on past production, regardless of market conditions or even whether the crops are still grown. The payments are heavily weighted to the biggest producers, with the top 10 percent getting two-thirds of the subsidies.... The payments will continue to go out automatically under a new $300 billion farm bill Congress has in the works, despite an 80 percent rise in grain prices over the past three years."
