庭审长达4个小时，没有宣判。
一次突如其来的检查，“你有艾滋病”，让李秀琴从此坠入深渊：丈夫和儿子离她而去，娘家人6年没有登门，亲戚朋友都躲着她。5年生不如死的日子里，李秀琴两次试图自杀。5年后，当丈夫身无分文“无处可躲”回到家中时，却发现李秀琴的脸色好转，根本不像患艾滋病的。
再一检查，两家医院的化验单都显示，李秀琴根本没有艾滋病！5年时光，夫离子散，5年前的化验结果到底是真是假，她能讨回公道吗？

【噩耗】被查出 “艾滋病”，丈夫儿子离家出走
2004年夏天，李秀琴所在的周口市鹿邑县生铁冢乡余楼杨庄村的高音喇叭里播出通知，凡是卖过血的村民，务必要进行血液检测。当时40岁的李秀琴有过一次卖血经历，当然也在此列。“去筛查的时候也没想啥，就是随便去看看。”李秀琴回忆说，一切检查完毕后，她像往常一样该忙啥忙啥。谁知，半个月后，村干部突然通知她去乡卫生院复查。被诊断“患上艾滋病”后，李秀琴哭了三天三夜，公公一夜之间愁白了头。
丈夫杨自辉说，妻子当时去卖血时，自己极力反对，因为两个人的收入维持家庭开支绰绰有余。杨自辉怀疑，妻子染上“艾滋病”，可能与那次卖血有关。
不久，杨自辉带着家里的积蓄，和孩子们离家出走，一走就是5年。其间，他们只回来过一次。对于丈夫和儿子的做法，李秀琴很大度：“我谁也不怪，自己得了这病，也不想连累其他人。”
【奇迹】两次自杀未遂，身体反而好转
5年多时间里，李秀琴一个人住在空荡荡的房子里，只是偶尔出去买点生活必需品，邻居、亲戚们都不搭理她，而她的娘家人甚至没有登过一次门。疏远、冷漠、猜疑、歧视，李秀琴想到了死。
她吃下多片安眠药，结果第二天中午又醒过来；她拎着农药去棉花地里，准备喝农药时被邻居发现。“既然死不了，索性就顺其自然吧。”李秀琴学会了接受现实。
2009年6月，杨自辉花光了身上的积蓄，不得已只能回家。回家后的杨自辉发现，妻子的身体和精神状况根本不像艾滋病患者。杨自辉开始怀疑，妻子当初的检测结果是不是搞错了？
【转机】再检查，两家医院都说她没病
“要不咱再去医院检查检查吧。”2009年7月，杨自辉和李秀琴决定到郑州市六院检查。“结果一检查，上面写的是阴性。我就坐在院子里哭，怎么是阴性啊？阴性就是我没有得艾滋病啊。”李秀琴找到当时的医生反复询问，最后医生都不耐烦了，说：“你这压根儿就不是艾滋病，你胡闹啥啊！”
医生的话虽然不好听，但在李秀琴夫妇的耳朵里，却是5年来他们听到的最动听的话。
夫妇俩手捧化验单赶回老家，他们要把这个好消息告诉村里的人。但村里人根本不相信，还是和李秀琴保持着距离。无奈，李秀琴只好去北京再次复查。一个星期后，结果出来了，还是阴性！“肯定是县、市两级疾控中心搞错了！”杨自辉说。
【争辩】两级疾控中心都称没责任
拿着检测结果，李秀琴夫妇找到当初为其进行艾滋病初筛的鹿邑县疾控中心，以及复检的周口市疾控中心讨说法。但两级疾控中心都认为自己没有责任。
李秀琴把鹿邑县疾控中心、周口市疾控中心告上法庭，要求法院判令两被告同时赔偿其各项损失共计75万元。2010年8月23日，周口市川汇区人民法院审理此案。
法庭上，周口市疾控中心辩称，作为复检机构，他们只负责对送检血液样品进行检测。“如装错血样或记错人名，均与我单位无关，不属于我单位的过错。”周口市疾控中心表示。
根据李秀琴的申请，法院从周口市疾控中心调取证据—— 一份传染病报告卡。该报告卡中显示，确认检测单位是周口市疾病预防控制中心。
对于这份证据，鹿邑县疾控中心表示，报告地区是鹿邑县，但盖章单位是周口市疾控中心，“确认结果的是市疾控中心，县里不是确诊单位，没有这个权力”。
【疑问】35号血样检验结果至关重要
周口市疾控中心提供的HIV确诊实验记录显示，李秀琴的血样在35号瓶中。周口市疾控中心提出，应该对35号血样进行重新鉴定，以确定他们的复检工作是否有误。
鹿邑县疾控中心表示：“鹿邑县疾控中心只负责技术方面的检测，而检测人与他的姓名等情况是否一致，不在工作职责范围内。”
在长达4个小时的庭审中，李秀琴一直哭泣，压抑多年的情绪终于爆发了，似乎要用泪水把紧贴在自己身上的“艾滋病”标签洗掉。本案没有当庭宣判。
天基律师事务所律师冯军义认为，当初判定李秀琴是艾滋病患者的根据，就是35号瓶的血样。
如果名字贴错了和周口市疾控中心没有关系。但还有一种可能，那就是35号血样的鉴定结果跟第一次鉴定结果完全相反。“如果是后一种可能的话，毫无疑问，两被告都要承担相应的责任。”冯军义说。
比艾滋病更可怕的是冷漠
《走进法庭》制片人、主持人张世彬说，反思整个案件，他最想说的一个词，就是“态度”。
“一个是事发之后，检测机构的态度。他们不是认真负责地去面对问题、追根溯源、解决问题，而是如此淡然的不予承认了事。作为政府的一个行政机构，尤其是自己的行为会在很大程度上影响别人命运的机构，是否值得深思呢？另一个态度，是6年中李秀琴贴着艾滋病的标签面对的周围人包括亲人们的态度”。
张世彬认为，即便李秀琴真的感染了艾滋病，大家这样对她也是非常不合适的。李秀琴的丈夫和儿子选择了离她而去；李秀琴的邻居、亲戚选择了躲避。当李秀琴手捧鉴定书时，还不能获得周围人完全的信任。所以，李秀琴的不幸当中，还有别人的不幸，比艾滋病病毒更可怕的是冷漠。
