艾滋病--当世界正朝着永久和平与发展的目标前进时，作为生命的杀手，它带着空前的危害，在无情地撞击着世界其他国家的同时，也叩开了开放的中国之门。同时，建国以来，我国居民住宅全部由国家包下来，无偿分配的历史也即将结束……另外，震惊一时的10万“倒蛋部队”亦浩浩荡荡走过……
艾滋病进入中国之后
令人心悸的第一个
1985年6月初，八达岭长城景致迷人，游人如织。美籍阿根廷旅游者阿斯克墨西纳来到这里，实现了他的一大愿望。但正当他兴致勃勃，举步攀登时，突然晕倒在地。事后，由于病情发展，他被迫走进协和医院就诊。

至此，短短几年时间，艾滋病发生的几种可能在我国几乎都已出现，这不仅意味着艾滋病已突破国门，尤其可怕的是，在尚能数得清的病例和病毒感染者出现以后，一种危险的发展趋势开始威胁到中国人。
扼住危险的趋势
与艾滋病在世界范围内的发病状况相比，我国目前仍是发病最低的国家之一，其病例发生类型尚属高发地区传入病例或与高发地区病例有性接触史及应用被感染血液及其制品而感染发生的。但医务部门通过对过去几年的发展情况进行分析，明确指出，目前，除从国外传入是一主要传染渠道外，吸毒、性乱等国内传播因素逐渐增多，成为又一主要传染途径，局部地区疫情严重。

各国在防治艾滋病过程中，都很着重宣传教育工作，我国也不例外。经过几年努力，宣传教育已成为我国预防和控制艾滋病的成功经验。
1985年我国报告发现首例艾滋病病人，一场长期的广泛的宣传教育也发端于此。从那以后的5年时间，有关部门不断地利用报刊、广播、影视等大众传播媒介，采用搞咨询、办展览等多种办法，向全体人民进行有关艾滋病的医学科普和预防知识的教育。

在治疗方面，最引人注目的是，在非洲用中医药治疗艾滋病病人3000例次，取得了意想不到的效果，开始了用中医药攻克这一现代医学难题的有益探索。
为了严防艾滋病的传入和传播，我国政府还先后制定了一系列有效的措施和政策法规：
--1984年和1985年，卫生部与有关部门两次联合发出通知，限制进口血液制品，包括因子制剂。
--1986年12月，我国公布了凡患有艾滋病、性病等传染病的外国人不准入境。如果发现患有上述疾病的外国人，中国卫生主管机关可以提请公安机关令其提前出境。

--1988年，国家七部委共同发布了《艾滋病监测管理若干规定》。
--1989年2月，全国人大在通过了《传染病防治法》，将艾滋病纳入法定传染病范围进行管理。
艾滋病是国际公敌，我国在控制防治艾滋病过程中，始终与国际间紧密合作。包括世界卫生组织在内的有关国际组织和一些国家，向我国不断提供技术和经费援助，并协助中国制定了预防控制艾滋病的中期规划。
1990年10月30日，“国际艾滋病防治会议”在瑞士的蒙特勒市开幕，这是迄今为止最重要的一次国际性艾滋病防治会议。在3天的会议期间，来自世界5大洲的300余名专家对世界各国的艾滋病防治策略进行讨论和比较，交流了他们防治艾滋病的经验，制订了新的防治战略。
