艾滋病自愿咨询检测(VCT)是指人们通过咨询，在充分知情和完全保密的情况下，自愿选择是否接受艾滋病病毒抗体检测、改变危险行为及获得相关服务的过程。
自愿咨询检测已成为艾滋病抗病毒治疗、预防母婴传播、行为干预、关怀、减少歧视等工作的枢纽。世界各国将自愿咨询检测作为艾滋病预防的重要公共卫生策略之一。
自愿咨询检测的开展可以有效减少高危人群危险性行为的发生率；及时发现感染艾滋病病毒的孕产妇，帮助孕产妇做出最有益的选择，减少艾滋病对母婴健康的危害；通过自愿咨询检测和其他帮助，HIV感染者对感染事实有正确的认识，树立积极的生活态度；为那些担心自己可能感染艾滋病病毒的人提供一个早期接受咨询和检测的机会，使求询者能及早获得有关治疗、关怀、预防等方面的信息和服务，减少艾滋病对个人、家庭以及社会经济发展的不良影响。
